Chad Michael Ward is a 29-year-old artist
living in the hills of San Francisco Bay
Area, where he spends his time working on
CD covers, comic books, novel covers, and
magazine/web design.
Chad’s artistic endeavors encompass
a variety of media including web design,
digital art, and dabbling in music and writing.
His work is heavily influenced by the written
works of Warren Ellis, William Gibson, and
John Bergin, as well as the beautiful and
haunting art of H.R. Giger, J.K. Potter,
Jeff Pittarelli, Ashley Wood, Dave McKean,
Eric Dinyer, David Mack, Trevor Brown, Cliff
Nielsen, Daniel Ouellette, Ernst Fuchs,
Greg Spalenka, Phil Hale, Brom, John Bolton,
and Joseph Michael Linsner.
In addition to his detailed artwork on covers
for bands such as Darkane, Collide, and
tributes to Marilyn Manson and NIN, Chad
is also responsible for the creation of
websites for popular writer Warren Ellis
and artists Darick Robert, John Cassaday,
and J.G. Jones.
Outside of the realm of digital art, Chad
is an avid comic book enthusiast, a self-proclaimed
Web junkie and movie addict - getting his
fix on films such as “Fight Club,”
“The Matrix,” “Pulp Fiction,”
“Doom Generation,” “Se7en,”
“The Fifth Element,” “Blade
Runner,” “Ghost in the Shell,”
and “Akira.”
In his spare time, Chad writes, produces,
and maintains OPi8.com, a magazine site
devoted to the New Dark Culture. He is also
working on his first full-length graphic
novel and maintains a personal site, Digital
Apocalypse.
