| “I
can’t control it, or even direct it.
I’m merely a vehicle for the expression
of my ideas.” —Libby
Bob Libby was born in 1969 in Portland,
Oregon, USA.
Libby’s digital work is created in
Photoshop, using bits and pieces scanned
from his photo library. “All source
material is shot by me. My nude photography
is strictly analog — created with
35mm&medium format cameras and a darkroom,”
states Libby.
His inspiration is found in the world around
him — looking at books, watching movies,
meeting new people, and experiencing daily
life situations. All of which combines together
in Libby’s imagination, and is created
into art. “The way I interpret all
these external influences has been called
many things such from pornographic to deeply
moving and inspirational, and I make no
attempt at an explanation of my work to
the people who view it. I prefer that they
come up with their own meaning and read
into as they see it. What is important to
me, isn’t what I think a picture means,
but what it means to the person looking
at it.”
