design is transparent. It’s so good
you can’t see it. You never thought
to question it. It just was, is, it.”

Justin Fox was born in 1975 in Sydney,
Australia. He graduated with a Bachelor
of Design from the University of New Sales
Wales, College of Fine Arts in 1996. The
last year of the course integrated a whole
year internship program which he spent at
Bold Entertainment Technologies. “I
was designing and developing web sites and
cd-roms. I then spent a year at Australian
Business Theatre (ABT), a communications
company based in Melbourne, Sydney and Singapore,”
states Justin. While at ABT, he was the
main designer and developer of cd-rom interactives
including speaker supports, laptop presenters,
kiosks and stand alone cd-roms.
Justin designed and talked his way into
work overload and was freelancing for a
few design companies at a time. “I
started sub contracting other designers.
The next step was inevitable. I founded
DFM Design Fix Media in late 97, my own
design business. Myself and my partner Caryn
Gillespie ran DFM for 3 years providing
high-end print, multimedia and corporate
identity design services with a focus on
web design.”
DFM was shut down early this year and he
was accepted a position as Head of Design
of Animal Logic's new interactive division
but soon resigned to launch the Australian
INfront. A collaborative project space and
launch pad to Australia's best online designers,
artists, design companies and other related
web sites.
