Bio: Rob
lives and works in Manchester, England.
He has recently graduated in the field of
journalism from the Manchester Metropolitan
University.
Rob’s writing has been published at
his University (MMU), and in UWS and Pulp
magazine. He expresses that his pieces are
“mostly whiny opinion pieces slagging
off Tony Blair and his wicked cohorts. My
work tends to start with a marxist perspective,
particularly in areas of historical materialism
and the classical marxist interpretation
of history. Lately, I am distancing myself
from that movement because of its inability
to cope with the shift in emphasis from
production to consumption in advanced capitalist
societies. I also have a problem with the
current lefts inability to determine its
stance on major world events which have
taken place in recent years. I’m sure
you know which ones I mean. I suppose Iwould
align myself with the likes of Jean Baudrillard
and Paul Virilio in attempting to make sense
of modern western culture.” |
